WASHINGTON, Pa. – The Thiel College men's lacrosse team defeated the Washington & Jefferson Presidents Wednesday on the road at Alexandre Stadium, 19-9.
Thiel jumped out to a 5-1 first-quarter lead and never looked back in earning the Ohio River Lacrosse Conference (ORLC) victory. It was the Tomcats' fifth win in their last six games.
Kyle Reib (Erie, Pa./McDowell) led Thiel with six points (4G, 2A).
Jeffrey Karnoff (Ringoes, NJ/Hunterdon Central) (2G, 3A),
JJ Raab (Butler, Pa./Butler) (5G),
Shawndel Evans II (New Haven, Conn./Notre Dame) (1G, 4A) and
Liam Stickle (Clarkston, Mich./Clarkston) (3G, 2A) contributed five points apiece for the Tomcats.
Ben Ward and Pat Heidecker paced the Presidents with three goals apiece.
Cole O'Connor (Midlothian, Va./James River) made 13 saves to pick up his sixth win of the season. Noah Cohen made 14 saves for W&J.
Thiel (6-6, 4-3 ORLC) will host Mount St. Joseph Saturday at Alumni Stadium. The ORLC game is slated to begin at 1 p.m.
