WAYNESBURG, Pa. – The Thiel College women's lacrosse team picked up its second Ohio RIver Lacrosse Conference (ORLC) win of the season Wednesday with a 17-4 victory on the road over the Waynesburg Yellow Jackets.
The Yellow Jackets struck first, scoring just under two minutes into the game before the Tomcats went on a 14-0 run to end the first half.
Paige Scherer (Cranberry, Pa./Seneca Valley) collected game-highs with six goals and five ground balls while
Mackenzie Quinn (Carnegie, Pa./Chartiers Valley) scored four goals on the night.
Bradleigh Williams (Lusby, Md./Patuxent) and
Kristyn Kinner (Alba, Pa./Troy) both scored two goals apiece while
Tyla Belton (Altoona, Pa./Altoona),
Macy Jordan (York, Pa./York Suburban) and
Megan Sweeny (Freeport, Pa./Freeport Area) each scored one goal.
Tomcat Goalkeeper
Kyra Farrell (Pittsburgh, Pa./Oakland Catholic) allowed just four goals and made 10 saves on the night.
The Tomcats will be back in action on Wednesday, April 4 when they travel to New Wilmington, Pa. to take on the Westminster Titans. The ORLC game will begin at 6:30 p.m.
