ARLINGTON, Va. – The Thiel College men's volleyball team dropped a Continental Volleyball Conference (CVC) match 3-0 to Marymount University on Friday night.
The Tomcats competed with the fifth-ranked Saints in the first set as they only fell 25-20 before falling 25-18 in the second and 25-15 in the third.
Thiel's offense was kept in check as no Tomcat recorded more than five kills on the night. Ryan Sumarsono (Victor, N.Y./Victor) collected a game-high 9 digs in the three-set match.
Marymount converted on 42 of 71 attacks for a .479 hitting percentage.
With the loss, Thiel falls to 9-11 overall and 3-7 in the CVC. Thiel will play two matches tomorrow as they travel to conference opponent Eastern Mennonite University. Thiel will face EMU at 2:00 p.m. and then face nonconference opponent Messiah College at 4:00 p.m.
