GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College women's basketball team lost a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) game Wednesday to the Grove City Wolverines at Beeghly Gymnasium, 81-47.
 
Jess Vormelker (Orwell, Ohio/Grand Valley) led the Tomcats with a game-best 19 points. She also led Thiel with six rebounds and recorded a pair of steals. With her 19 points Vormelker moved into ninth on Thiel's career points list (1,112), surpassing Teresa Collins (1,095) and Penny Aits (1,107) who both played in the 1980s.
 
Taylor Duchon (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin) also scored 11 points for the Tomcats.
 
Kate Balcom led the Wolverines with 15 points and seven rebounds. Lexie Arkwright and Lauren Frederick also scored 13 points apiece.
 
The Tomcats will conclude the 2017-18 regular season Saturday when they take on the Chatham Cougars on the road. The PAC game is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
