PITTSBURGH – The Thiel College women's basketball team concluded the 2017-18 season Saturday with a 59-47 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) loss on the road to the Chatham Cougars.
The game was tied at halftime (30-30), but the Cougars outscored the Tomcats 15-6 in the third quarter and 14-11 in the fourth quarter to earn the conference win.
Taylor Duchon (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin) led the Tomcats with a game-best 23 points while also securing nine rebounds.
Jess Vormelker (Orwell, Ohio/Grand Valley) tallied a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Also for the Tomcats,
Alivia Sidley (Thompson, Ohio/Ledgemont) led her team with 11 rebounds while chipping in with nine points.
Katie Sieg led the Cougars with 19 points, 11 of which she earned at the charity stripe. Olivia Barkley recorded a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds while Ashley McClain and Brittani Smith scored 10 points apiece.
