YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Thiel College women's basketball team were defeated on Thursday by NCAA Division I opponent Youngstown State University, 76-53.
The Penguins jumped on the Tomcats early taking the first quarter 20-7 before the Tomcats would compete in each of the next three quarters and even outscored the Penguins in the fourth, 15-14.
Thiel saw a number of different scorers contribute against YSU as freshman forward
Destiny Johnson (Baltimore, Md./Western) led all Tomcats with 13 points and 13 rebounds to collected her sixth double-double of the season.

Alivia Sidley (Thompson, Ohio/Ledgemont) earned her seventh double-digit scoring performance of the year as she racked up 12 points on the day.

Jess Vormelker (Orwell, Ohio/Grand Valley) poured in nine points and freshman guard
Rachel Breckenridge (Burton, Ohio/Berkshire) continued her hot shooting as she scored nine points, as well. Breckenridge went 10 of 16 (62.5%) from beyond the arc in three games this week.

Danyelle Lucido (Grove City, Pa./Grove City) and junior guard
Courtney Harriman (Geneva, Ohio/Geneva) each chipped in five points in the 76-53 loss.
The Tomcats will not play again until 2019 when they host Washington and Jefferson College in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) matchup at Beeghly Gymnasium, tipoff is set for 5:30 p.m.
