GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College women's basketball team lost a non-conference game Wednesday night to the Hiram Terriers at Beeghly Gymnasium, 95-65.
Jess Vormelker (Orwell, Ohio/Grand Valley) led the Tomcats with 17 points while also securing nine rebounds. Vormelker moved into fifth place on Thiel's career points list (1,243) with her 17 points Wednesday, surpassing Kelly Muffley (2009-13), who amassed 1,238 points in her career.
Alivia Sidley (Thompson, Ohio/Ledgemont) scored 13 points and tallied four assists for the Tomcats. Freshman forward
Destiny Johnson (Baltimore, Md./Western) recorded her fourth double-double of the season with a game-best 12 rebounds and 11 points. Freshman guard
Rachel Breckenridge (Burton, Ohio/Berkshire) also chipped in with eight points.
Josie Earnhardt scored a game-high 24 points for the Terriers. She made 9-of-15 shots from the floor, including 6-of-11 from 3-point range. Erica Johnson notched a double-double for the Terriers with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Tashauna Wright scored 11 points while securing eight rebounds and handing out seven assists.
The Tomcats (2-3) open Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) play Saturday when they host the Westminster Titans at Beeghly Gymnasium. The game set to begin at 1 p.m.
