GROVE CITY, Pa. – The Thiel College football team concluded the 2018 season Saturday with a 42-15 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) loss to the Grove City Wolverines at Robert E. Thorn Field.
Grove City retained possession of the Mercer County Cup with the win.
After intercepting a pass on the first drive of the game, the Wolverines scored six plays later when quarterback Josh Ehst scored on a 1-yard run.
Thiel's offense held the ball for 18 plays and 10:28 on the ensuing drive, which concluded with a 26-yard field goal by
Chris Rosales (Port St. Lucie, Fla./St. Lucie West Centennial).
The Wolverines went on to score 35 consecutive points to hold a 42-3 lead near the midpoint of the third quarter. Running back Wesley Schools scored three of Grove City's touchdowns over the stretch on runs of 2-, 3- and 4-yards.

Charles Debose (Buffalo, N.Y./Cardinal O'Hara) scored Thiel's first touchdown of the game late in the third quarter on a 1-yard run, capping off an 11-play effort that covered 57 yards and consumed 5:24 of the game clock.

Nick Barca (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin) closed out scoring early in the fourth quarter when he scored on a 1-yard run. Barca's touchdown run finished off an 8-play, 55-yard drive that took 3:35.
Barca led the Tomcats with 98 yards and a touchdown on 26 attempts.
Damon Smith (South Park, Pa./South Park) completed 9-of-19 passes for 81 yards. He also ran for 28 yards on seven carries.
David Pugh (Hollywood, Fla./Christopher Columbus) caught three passes for 33 yards.
Schools ran for 114 yards and scored three touchdowns on 23 carries. Ehst completed 10-of-13 passes for 212 yards. Ehst also threw two touchdown passes. Cody Gustafson recorded 133 yards and scored a touchdown on six receptions.
Grant Milne (Portville, N.Y./Portville Central) and
Dusty Maines (Clearfield, Pa./Clearfield) led Thiel with 11 tackles apiece. Sam Henson led Grove City on defense with 10 tackles and an interception.
