Duchon nets career-best 27 points against Geneva

BEAVER FALLS, Pa. – Senior forward Taylor Duchon (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin) scored a career-best 27 points Wednesday, but it wasn't enough for the Thiel College women's basketball team in a 71-55 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) loss on the road to the Geneva Golden Tornadoes.
 
Duchon made 12-of-19 shots from the floor, including 2-of-6 from three-point range. She also contributed five rebounds and a block. Jess Vormelker (Orwell, Ohio/Grand Valley) tallied her 10th double-double of the season with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Sarah Nagy (Hadley, Pa./Commodore Perry) scored six points while Alivia Sidley (Thompson, Ohio/Ledgemont) grabbed six rebounds.
 
Callie Ford tallied a double-double for Geneva with 24 points and 11 rebounds. Jodie Carlson scored 18 points for the Golden Tornadoes while Noelle Henry scored 11 points.
 
The Tomcats will be back in action Saturday when they take on the Bethany Bison on the road. The PAC game is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
