NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – The Thiel College women's basketball team was defeated in Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) play Saturday on the road by the Westminster Titans, 48-43.
 
The Tomcats trailed at the half 22-13 but outscored the Titans 22-11 in the third quarter to take a slim 35-33 lead into the final quarter. However, down the stretch, it was the Titans who scored the final five points to pick up the conference win.
 
Jess Vormelker (Orwell, Ohio/Grand Valley) tallied her ninth double-double of the season in the loss with a game-best 16 rebounds and team-leading 12 points. Alivia Sidley (Thompson, Ohio/Ledgemont) scored 11 points while Sarah Nagy (Hadley, Pa./Commodore Perry) scored 10 points.
 
Emily Fromknecht scored a game-best 15 points for the Titans while Paige Quinn scored 12 points.
 
Thiel will host Oberlin on Monday. The non-conference game is slated to begin at 7 p.m.
