GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College women's basketball team lost a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) game Saturday to the Chatham Cougars at Beeghly Gymnasium, 64-53.
Thiel trailed 39-21 at halftime but entered the fourth quarter trailing by just four points (48-44) after
Brijae Journee (Cleveland, Ohio/Villa-Angela St. Joseph) completed a 3-point play at the end of the third quarter. The Cougars went on to outscore the Tomcats 16-9 in the fourth quarter to secure the conference win.
Jess Vormelker (Orwell, Ohio/Grand Valley) notched her eighth double-double of the season for the Tomcats with game-bests in points (18) and rebounds (11).
Alivia Sidley (Thompson, Ohio/Ledgemont) scored 12 points and secured eight rebounds while
Danyelle Lucido (Grove City, Pa./Grove City) scored nine points to go along with seven rebounds.
Sarah Nagy (Hadley, Pa./Commodore Perry) also contributed eight points.
Katie Sieg led the Cougars with 17 points. Sierra Ungerman scored 13 points and corralled a team-best seven rebounds. Also for Chatham, Ashley McClain scored 11 points while Olivia Barkley scored 10 points.
The Tomcats will return to action Wednesday when they take on the Grove City Wolverines on the road. The PAC game is set to begin at 5:30 p.m.
