MARIETTA, Ohio – The Marietta Pioneers defeated the Thiel Tomcats 1-0 in non-conference action Monday afternoon.
 
Marietta's Amanda Augustyniak scored the lone goal in the game in the 61^st minute on a pass from McKenzie Dorr.
 
Kaytee Candela (Ashtabula, Ohio/Lakeside) and Cassie Koch (Stow, Ohio/Stow-Munroe) each put a shot on goal for the Tomcats.
 
Chimamaka Palmer (Northfield, Ohio/Mayfield) made 13 saves for the Tomcats. Katie Conkle made a pair of saves for Marietta.
 
The Tomcats will open Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) play Saturday when they host the Washington & Jefferson Presidents at Alumni Stadium. The game is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
