HIRAM, Ohio – The Thiel College women's soccer team opened the 2017 season Friday with a 7-0 road loss to the Hiram Terriers at Henry Field.
 
Chimamaka Palmer (Northfield, Ohio/Mayfield) and Victoria Villano (Canfield, Ohio/Canfield) combined to make seven saves for the Tomcats.
 
Emily Syrjala led the Terriers with three goals while Hannah Ward tallied three assists.
 
The Tomcats will return to action Saturday when they face the University of Mount Union Purple Raiders at Henry Field in Hiram, Ohio. The game is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
