LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Thiel College men's lacrosse team suffered a 15-3 Ohio River Lacrosse Conference (ORLC) loss on the road Saturday to the Transylvania Pioneers.
Edward Kargbo (Alexandria, Va./T.C. Williams) led the Tomcats with two goals while
Jared Saffer (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Hills) tallied a pair of assists.
Shawndel Evans II (New Haven, Conn./Notre Dame) also contributed a goal for the Tomcats.
Josh Mesmer led the Pioneers with three goals while Clark Watts scored two goals and added an assist.
Cole O'Connor (Midlothian, Va./James River) made 12 saves for the Tomcats while
Charles Wistner (Buffalo, N.Y./Orchard Park) denied two shots. Cooper Fogle made six saves for the Pioneers.
Despite the loss the Tomcats qualified for next week's ORLC Championship Tournament. Thiel will face second-seeded Saint Vincent on the road in the tournament semifinals Wednesday (May 3). The game is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.
