GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel Tomcats improved to 2-0 on the season Saturday with a 23-4 non-conference win over the La Roche Redhawks at the Rissell-Schreyer Dome.
 
Brennen O'Shea (Cranberry Township, Pa./Seneca Valley) led the Tomcats with six points (1G, 5A) on the day. Liam Stickle (Clarkston, Mich./Clarkston) (5G), Jared Saffer (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Hills) (4G, 1A) and Edward Kargbo (Alexandria, Va./T.C. Williams) (3G, 2A) each recorded five points apiece.
 
Also for Thiel, Mike Bryant (Cleveland, Ohio/Cleveland Heights) and John Smiley (Lincoln University, Pa./Avon Grove) each scored three goals and added an assist to tally four-point games.
 
Charles Wistner (Buffalo, N.Y./Orchard Park) made one save for the Tomcats in the first period to earn the win. Cole O'Connor (Midlothian, Va./James River) made five saves for Thiel over the final 45 minutes. Blake Foglio denied 15 shots for the Redhawks in 60 minutes of work.
 
Brad LaBovick paced La Roche with a pair of goals, both of which were scored in the second half.
 
Thiel (2-0) will host the Houghton Highlanders Saturday at the Rissell-Schreyer Dome. The non-conference game is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
