CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky. – The Thiel College men's basketball team was defeated by the Thomas More Saints in the semifinals of the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Championship Tournament Thursday, 73-53.
Thiel jumped out to a quick 8-0 lead and held a 12-point lead roughly eight minutes into the contest. However, Thomas More tied up the game (23-23) with a little less than eight minutes remaining before halftime. The Saints went on to lead by seven points (38-31) at the break and never looked back in the second half.
Clandell Cetoute (Wellington, Fla./Wellington) led the Tomcats with 12 points and nine rebounds while
Alonzo Brown (Largo, Fla./Pinellas Park) scored nine points and grabbed 11 rebounds. Also for the Tomcats,
Nyric Gosley (Williamsport, Pa./Williamsport) scored nine points while
LeAndre Jackson (Boardman, Ohio/Boardman) scored eight points off the bench.
Damion King scored a game-best 24 points for the Saints while Ralph Stone scored 14 points off the bench. Brandon Horne also chipped in with 13 points.
The Tomcats, the third seed in the PAC Championship Tournament, concluded the 2016-17 season 16-9 overall and 11-7 in PAC play.
