GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College women's basketball team won a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) game over the Geneva Golden Tornadoes Wednesday at Beeghly Gymnasium, 78-57.
Jess Vormelker (Orwell, Ohio/Grand Valley) led the Tomcats with a double-double (19 points, 10 rebounds) while
Danyelle Lucido (Grove City, Pa./Grove City) scored 18 points. Vormelker also recorded three blocks, three assists and a pair of steals in the conference win.
Also for Thiel,
Taylor Duchon (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin) finished one rebound shy of a double-double with 10 points and nine rebounds.
Alivia Sidley (Thompson, Ohio/Ledgemont) and
Jessica Lovell (Washington, Pa./Trinity) also contributed nine and eight points, respectively.
Callie Ford recorded game-highs for the Golden Tornadoes with 20 points and 11 rebounds. Miranda Heaney scored 16 points while Jodie Carlson scored 12 points.
The Tomcats will return to action Saturday when they host the Bethany Bison at Beeghly Gymnasium. The PAC game is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
