WAYNESBURG, Pa. – The Thiel College women's basketball team dropped a road Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) game against Waynesburg University 83-61 on Saturday afternoon at Rudy Marisa Fieldhouse.

Junior Jess Vormelker (Orwell, Ohio/Grand Valley) collected a career-high 30 points but it proved to be not enough as Waynesburg had three scorers in double figures to roll to a 22 point victory.

The Yellow Jackets jumped out to a 15-8 first quarter lead and extended the lead to 40-25 to end the first half. The Yellow Jackets were able to hold the second half. For the Tomcats Alivia Sidley (Thompson, Ohio/Ledgemont) added 12 points.

With the loss, Thiel drops to 3-4 overall and 2-2 in the PAC.

Next up for the Tomcats will be Hiram College on Tuesday in a non-conference matchup, tip-off is set for 7:00 p.m.
