HIRAM, Ohio – The Thiel College women's basketball team lost a non-conference game on the road Tuesday night to the Hiram Terriers, 78-56.
Jess Vormelker (Orwell, Ohio/Grand Valley) led the Tomcats with 25 points and 10 rebounds to record her third double-double of the season. Vormelker, who made 10-of-19 shots from the floor, also contributed three steals, two assists and two blocks.
Danyelle Lucido (Grove City, Pa./Grove City) scored 13 points for Thiel to go along with three assists and three steals.
Bri Burgos tallied a double-double for the Terriers with 18 points and 15 rebounds. Jazmine Scott and Tashauna Wright also contributed 14 and 12 points, respectively.
The Tomcats (3-5, 2-2 PAC) will compete in the Third Annual HoopMIA D3 Holiday Shootout in Miami Shores, Fla., on Dec. 19-20.
Hosted by Eastern University, the HoopMIA D3 Holiday Shootout will take place at the Health & Sports Center on the campus of Barry University. Thiel will take on Alfred University on Tuesday, Dec. 19 at 8 p.m. and St. Thomas University on Wednesday, Dec. 20 at 6 p.m.
