GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College women's volleyball team was swept by Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) opponent Thomas More College on Sunday afternoon at Beeghly Gymnasium. The Saints took consecutive sets by scores of 25-14, 25-21 and 25-18.
The Saints jumped out to a commanding 25-14 first set victory to set the tone for the match. The Tomcats rebounded to stay close with the Saints in the second as Thiel had an early advantage in the second, until Thomas More went on a 10-3 run to take the lead and the set 25-21.
In the third, multiple Saints' runs were too much for the Tomcats to handle as the Saints took the set 25-18.
Thomas More had three hitters with double-digit kills on the day as Madison Krumpelman and Carlee Lambert each collected 11 and Alli Borders added 10.
For the Tomcats
Peyton Allen (Mineral Ridge, Ohio/Mineral Ridge) recorded nine kills and an ace and
Megan Sweeny (Freeport, Pa./Freeport Area) collected 18 digs on the day.
With the loss the Tomcats finish their season with an overall record of 10-19 and 4-14 in the PAC.
