GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College women's volleyball team collected a three-set sweep of Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) opponent Waynesburg University on Wednesday night at Beeghly Gymnasium.
The Tomcats took the match three-sets to none over the Yellowjackets winning 25-15, 25-15, 25-18.
Thiel earned the sweep with a balanced attack as eight Tomcats recorded a kill.
Macey Garland (Mineral Ridge, Ohio/Mineral Ridge) led the way with nine kills on the night.
Defensively,
Megan Sweeny (Freeport, Pa./Freeport Area) and
Alex Geraci (Garrettsville, Ohio/Crestwood) collected 18 and 14 digs respectively to pace the Tomcats on defense.
Thiel takes the season series over the Waynesburg as they took the first match in Waynesburg, Pa. on Sept. 12.
The Tomcats are back in action on Tuesday, Oct. 24 at Beeghly Gymnasium for PAC match against Geneva College, slated to begin at 7:00 p.m.
