GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College women's soccer team lost a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) game to the Grove City Wolverines Wednesday night at Alumni Stadium, 3-1.
Ruby Mattson gave Grove City the lead 14:43 into the contest when she scored on a breakaway. The Wolverines went on to take a 3-0 lead before halftime on goals scored just seven seconds apart by Megan Van Kirk and Lacy Harkrader.
Nicole Pereksta (Parma Heights, Ohio/Valley Forge) got the Tomcats on the scoreboard in the 65
th minute when she scored on a rebound inside in the box. Pereksta and
Kaytee Candela (Ashtabula, Ohio/Lakeside) led the Tomcats with two shots on goal apiece.
Chimamaka Palmer (Northfield, Ohio/Mayfield) made five saves for the Tomcats while Trishae Winters made four saves for the Wolverines.
Thiel will take on the Geneva Golden Tornadoes on the road Saturday. The PAC game is slated to begin at 3:30 p.m.
