WAYNESBURG, Pa. – The Waynesburg Yellow Jackets came back from a 10-point halftime deficit Saturday to earn a 55-47 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) victory over the visiting Thiel Tomcats.
The Tomcats led 14-12 after 10 minutes Saturday and 32-22 at halftime, but the Yellow Jackets won the second half (33-15) to pick up the conference win.
Jess Vormelker (Orwell, Ohio/Grand Valley) led the Tomcats with 14 points and nine rebounds.
Danyelle Lucido (Grove City, Pa./Grove City) also scored 11 points for the Tomcats while
Taylor Duchon (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin) scored 10 points and grabbed seven rebounds.
Katie Gehlmann led the Yellow Jackets with a game-high 16 points. Also for Waynesburg, Addy Knetzer and Monica Starre each scored nine points while recording nine rebounds.
The Tomcats will return to action Wednesday when they host the Geneva Golden Tornadoes at Beeghly Gymnasium. The PAC game is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m.
