GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College women's basketball team was defeated 55-38 in Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) action Saturday by the Westminster Titans at Beeghly Gymnasium.
The game was tied 19-19 at halftime, but the Tomcats shot just 16.7 percent from the floor over the final 20 minutes, allowing the Titans to earn the conference victory and split the season series. The Tomcats defeated the Titans 69-67 in their conference opener on Nov. 30.
Brijae Journee (Cleveland, Ohio/Villa-Angela St. Joseph), a junior guard, paced the Tomcats with 11 points Saturday afternoon.
Jess Vormelker (Orwell, Ohio/Grand Valley) chipped in with nine rebounds and six points.
Westminster's Emily Fromknecht scored a game-high 14 points while Rachel Durbin contributed 11 points. Also for the Titans, Kylie Cook grabbed a game-best 11 rebounds.
The Tomcats will return to action Monday when they take on the Oberlin Yeowomen on the road. The nonconference game is set to begin at 7:30 p.m.
