Vormelker paces Tomcats against Bearcats

GREENVILLE, Pa. – Jess Vormelker (Orwell, Ohio/Grand Valley) recorded her eighth double-double of the season Wednesday but it wasn't enough for the Thiel Tomcats in a 75-40 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) loss to the Saint Vincent Bearcats at Beeghly Gymnasium.
 
Vormelker grabbed 12 rebounds and scored 11 points to tally her eighth double-double. She also blocked four shots and came up with a pair of steals. Alivia Sidley (Thompson, Ohio/Ledgemont) chipped in with nine points while Laken Shields (Franklin, Pa./Franklin) and Taylor Duchon (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin) combined for 15 rebounds.
 
Jasmine Weems scored 11 points for the Bearcats while handing out 10 assists. Maria Morgan scored a game-best 14 points.
 
The Tomcats will take on the Chatham Cougars on the road Saturday. The PAC game is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.
