GREENVILLE, Pa. –
Kaytee Candela (Ashtabula, Ohio/Lakeside) scored two goals a minute apart in the second half, including the game-winner, to lift the Thiel Tomcats to a 4-3 non-conference win over the Medaille Mavericks Wednesday at Alumni Stadium.
With the contest tied 2-2, Candela gave the Tomcats the lead at the 63:53 mark when she beat the goalkeeper one-on-one after receiving a pass from
Marissa Ramirez (Amherst, Ohio/Amherst Steele).
Exactly one minute later, Candela gave the Tomcats a two-goal cushion when she buried a shot in the box.
Elizabeth Wilkinson (Apollo, Pa./Kiski Area) earned the assist on what was the eventual game-winning goal.

Allison Hamilton (Norton, Ohio/Norton) opened scoring 1:16 after the opening whistle when she buried a pass from
Katelyn Labos (Carnegie, Pa./Chartiers Valley). Medaille tied up the game roughly 16 minutes later when Michelle Carpenter scored on a penalty kick.
Ramirez put the Tomcats back on top, 2-1, near the end of the first half when she drove to the net from the left wing and scored on a shot to the top left corner.
Medaille's Jamie Michalewski forced the second tie of the game at the 53:10 mark, setting the stage for Candela's two goals down the stretch.
Ramirez finished with a goal and an assist for the Tomcats. Carpenter scored two goals for the Mavericks.
Kim Gentry (Madison, Ohio/Madison) made six saves and earned the win for the Tomcats. Deejah Burgess denied four shots for the Mavericks.
The Tomcats will return to action Tuesday when they host the Marietta Pioneers at Alumni Stadium. The non-conference game is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m.
