GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College women's soccer team played to a 1-1 draw with the Pitt-Greensburg Bobcats Monday night at Alumni Stadium.
The Tomcats struck first in the 15
th minute when a through ball by
Kaytee Candela (Ashtabula, Ohio/Lakeside) from the midfield allowed
Katelyn Labos (Carnegie, Pa./Chartiers Valley) to get by the Bobcat defender and score past the outstretched arms of the Bobcat keeper.
The Bobcats responded in the 19
th minute when Brianna Burgunder scored on a header off a corner kick from Rachel Steinmark.
Kim Gentry (Madison, Ohio/Madison) made eight stops in net for the Tomcats.
The Bobcats outshot the Tomcats 16-14 but both teams put nine shots on goal.
The Tomcats will be back in action on Wednesday, Sept. 21 when they battle the Medaille Mavericks. Kick off from Alumni Stadium is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
