BETHANY, W.Va. – The Thiel College baseball team suffered a 6-5 defeat in ten innings to the Bethany Bison in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) matchup Friday afternoon.
Bryan Mitchell (Cleveland, Ohio/Padua Franciscan) paced the Tomcat offense with two hits and also scoring twice. He hit a two-run home run over the left center field fence in the sixth inning.
Nick Grice (McKeesport, Pa./McKeesport),
Daniel Patrice (Munich, Germany/ESIT) and
Josh Doody (Grove City, Pa. /Grove City) each notched a hit and a run in the loss.
Kevin Forrester (Canonsburg, Pa./Canon-McMillan) went six innings with four strikeouts and only allowed two earned runs in the start.
Ryan Nickerson delivered the walk-off single in the bottom of the tenth with the bases loaded to win the game for Bethany.
Thiel (27-11, 16-6 PAC) will wrap up the regular season tomorrow when they face Bethany in a PAC doubleheader for Senior Day. The first game is slated to begin at noon at Tomcat Park.
