WASHINGTON, Pa. – The Thiel College baseball team fell 9-2 on the road to the Washington & Jefferson Presidents in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) game Sunday afternoon.
Dan Koller (Euclid, Ohio/Lake Catholic),
Daniel Patrice (Munich, Germany/ESIT) and
Nick Fowkes (New Eagle, Pa./Ringgold) all had multi-hit days for the Tomcats, each collecting two hits in the contest.
The Tomcats scored all of their runs in the third inning.
Matt Elko (Middlefield, Ohio/Berkshire) brought Patrice home on a RBI single up the middle for the Tomcats first run of the game. Koller knocked in the other run of the game on a fielding error by the third baseman that allowed Fowkes to cross the plate.
Riley Schwertz (Zelienople, Pa./Freedom) pitched 6.1 innings for the Tomcats while
Tanner Teconchuk (North Warren, Pa./Warren) pitched 1.2 innings in relief.
The Tomcats (19-9, 8-4 PAC) will return home on Tuesday, April 19 when they face the Geneva Golden Tornadoes in a PAC doubleheader. The first game will begin at 2 p.m. at Tomcat Park.
