GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College men's lacrosse team improved to 9-2 overall and 4-1 in the Ohio River Lacrosse Conference (ORLC) Saturday with a 12-2 victory over the Saint Vincent Bearcats at Alumni Stadium.
Leading 2-1 after 15 minutes of play, the Tomcats went on to score four unanswered goals in the second quarter to hold a commanding 6-1 lead at halftime.
Alex Casile (Pittsburgh, Pa./Fox Chapel) scored two of the Tomcats' second quarter goals while
Brennen O'Shea (Pittsburgh, Pa./Seneca Valley) and
Edward Kargbo (Alexandria, Va./T.C. Williams) also scored one goal apiece.
Kargbo led the Tomcats with four points on three goals and an assist. Casile also scored three goals while O'Shea finished with two goals and an assist.
Desmond Stuart (Roanoke, Va./Salem) led Thiel with 10 ground balls and five caused turnovers.
Jeremy Kennedy and Tim Oxenreiter paced the Bearcats with a goal apiece.
Charles Wistner (Orchard Park, N.Y./Orchard Park) made seven saves for the Tomcats in 60 minutes of work. He improved to 9-2 on the season with the win. Greg Gonzalez made 10 saves for the Bearcats.
The Tomcats will face the Bethany Bison Tuesday on the road. The ORLC game is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.
