DEFIANCE, Ohio –
Timothy O'Shea (Cranberry Township, Pa./Seneca Valley) tallied 12 points, breaking his own single-game program record, to lead the Thiel College men's lacrosse team to a 25-1 Ohio River Lacrosse Conference (ORLC) win Saturday over the Defiance Yellow Jackets at Coressel Stadium.
O'Shea scored eight goals and added four assists Saturday to become the first player in program history to tally 200 career points. His brother, Brennen, scored three goals to go along with an assist Saturday.
Also for the Tomcats,
Aaron Parry (Erie, Pa./McDowell) notched five points (3G, 2A) while
Jared Saffer (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Hills) notched three points (2G, 1A) and won 22-of-30 faceoffs.
Alex Casile (Pittsburgh, Pa./Fox Chapel),
Shawndel Evans II (New Haven, Conn./Notre Dame) and
Kyle Reib (Erie, Pa./McDowell) scored two goals apiece.
Charles Wistner (Orchard Park, N.Y./Orchard Park) and
Coty Bachman (Wheeling, W.Va./Wheeling Park) combined to make four saves for the Tomcats. Wistner earned the win in 15 minutes of work in the first quarter.
Ring Lardner scored Defiance's goal on an assist from Jerome Davis. Ricky Potts made 17 saves in 60 minutes for the Yellow Jackets.
The Tomcats (5-1, 1-0 ORLC), winners of five straight games, will take on the La Roche Redhawks on the road on Wednesday. The non-conference game is slated to begin at 4 p.m.
