WAYNESBURG, Pa. – Jess Vormelker (Orwell, Ohio/Grand Valley) scored 21 points Wednesday, but it wasn't enough for the Thiel College women's basketball team in a 76-56 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) loss on the road to the Waynesburg Yellow Jackets.
 
A freshman guard, Vormelker also grabbed eight rebounds and tallied a pair of assists. She has scored 20 points or more on four occasions during her freshman campaign.
 
Also for the Tomcats, Taylor Ketler (Dalton, Ohio/Dalton) scored 10 points and pulled down seven rebounds. Hannah Stoneman (Sugarcreek, Ohio/Hiland) scored nine points while Taylor Duchon (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin) recorded eight rebounds.
 
Katie Gehlmann and Maura Bobby scored 14 points apiece for the Yellow Jackets while Heather Davis scored 12 points. Addy Knetzer scored eight points and came up with a game-best 15 rebounds.
 
The Tomcats will be back in action Saturday when they host the Westminster Titans at Beeghly Gymnasium. The PAC game is slated to begin at 1 p.m.
