WASHINGTON, Pa. – The Thiel Tomcats earned a 2-1 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) victory Tuesday over the Washington & Jefferson Presidents at Alexandre Stadium in Washington, Pa.
The win was Thiel's first over Washington & Jefferson in exactly 44 years (Oct. 18, 1972, 4-1).
Jordan Lilley (Jamestown, Ohio/Greeneview) gave the Tomcats the lead 22:40 into the contest when he scored on a header off a cross pass from
Eric Mitchell (Barberton, Ohio/Barberton). The Presidents tied up the game roughly 16 minutes later when Jason Yobbi scored on a penalty kick.
Josh Evjene (Orrstown, Pa./Chambersburg) scored the game-winner for the Tomcats 3:28 into the second half when he tapped in
Hunter Young (Columbus, Ohio/Thomas Worthington)'s pass from the doorstep.
Christian Conrad (Barberton, Ohio/Central Catholic) made 10 saves to earn the win for the Tomcats.
The Tomcats will take on the Grove City Wolverines Saturday on the road. The PAC game is set to begin at 3:30 p.m.
