NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – The Thiel College men's soccer team was defeated 3-1 Saturday in Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) play by the Westminster Titans.
Nick Cimini gave the Titans the lead 18:13 after the opening whistle when he scored on a header off of Shane Fallen's corner kick.
Thiel trailed by just a goal at halftime, but Westminster scored a pair of goals roughly five minutes apart in the second half to take a commanding 3-0 lead. Kornel Foremski scored on a header in the 63
rd minute on a pass from Fedja Smajic while Jeremy Wiening scored in the 68
th minute on another helper from Smajic.
Eric Mitchell (Barberton, Ohio/Barberton) got the Tomcats on the scoreboard in the 88
th minute when he buried a shot to the left side of the net.
Christian Conrad (Barberton, Ohio/Central Catholic) made nine saves for the Tomcats. Ezra Cimino and A.J. Bove combined to make five saves for the Titans.
The Tomcats will host the Saint Vincent Bearcats Wednesday at Alumni Stadium. The PAC game is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m.
