Tomcats downed by Presidents

GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College football team suffered a 62-14 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) loss to the Washington & Jefferson Presidents Saturday at Alumni Stadium.
 
Ryan Radke (Lancaster, N.Y./Lancaster Central) threw two touchdown passes in the game. His first touchdown pass was a 44-yarder to DeShawon Bracy (Vandergrift, Pa./Kiski Area) with 11 seconds remaining in the first half. Jaquan Hicks (Ware Shoals, S.C./Ware Shoals) caught the second touchdown pass, a six-yarder, with 3:41 remaining in the third quarter. Chris Rosales (Port St. Lucie, Fla. /St. Lucie West Centennial) converted the extra points on both Thiel touchdowns.
 
Radke completing 13 passes for 172 yards and also rushed for 48 yards on 14 attempts. Bracy, Hicks and Eugene Bailey (New Kensington, Pa. /Valley) caught three passes apiece. Bracy led the way with 81 yards receiving while Bailey and Hicks gained 54 and 24 receiving yards, respectively.
 
Jake Elk (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin) and Tyron Bynum (McKeesport, Pa./McKeesport) led the Thiel defense with 11 tackles. Bynum had 3.5 tackles for loss, a sack and a forced fumble. LaRonald Smith (Fort Lauderdale, Fla./South Plantation) notched six tackles while Dalton DuBrosky (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin) had five tackles with two pass breakups and a forced fumble.
 
Washington & Jefferson quarterback Pete Coughlin went 17-for-20 passing for 319 yards and five touchdowns. Jesse Zubik caught 10 of Coughlin's passes for 199 yards and three scores.
 
The Tomcats (2-3, 1-2 PAC) will be back in action Saturday, Oct. 15, when they travel to Cleveland, Ohio, to take on the Case Western Reserve Spartans. Kickoff at DiSanto Field is set for 1 p.m.
