Box Score 2 GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College women's volleyball team split a home Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) tri-match against the Washington & Jefferson Presidents and the Saint Vincent Bearcats Saturday afternoon.
The Tomcats took the first set against the Presidents but dropped three straight sets to lose three sets to one (20-25, 25-18, 25-18, 25-15).
Lenora Boyer (Delaware, Ohio/Delaware Christian) led the Tomcats with 11 kills while
Shelby Friedel (Columbia Station, Ohio/Columbia) and
Bailey Holmes (Roaming Shores, Ohio/Grand Valley) chipped in with nine and six kills respectively.

Hannah Rossman (Fairview, Pa./Fairview) and
Jenny Shelley (Port Allegany, Pa./Port Allegany) had 33 of the 34 assists against the Presidents.
The Tomcats collected 82 digs on defense, led by
Ashley Baer (Cambridge Springs, Pa./Cambridge Springs). Baer had 30 digs while
Megan Sweeny (Freeport, Pa./Freeport Area) added 21 digs.
Nicole Bishwaty had a double-double with a game-high 18 kills with 18 assists.
The Tomcats rallied back in the final match of the day, down a set to defeat the Bearcats three sets to one (19-25, 26=24, 25-14, 25-23). Shelley collected her second double-double of the season, finishing the match with 21 digs and 20 assists. Shelley also had two kills and two service aces.
Peyton Allen (Mineral Ridge, Ohio/Mineral Ridge) racked up nine kills on 21 attacks and 19 digs, a kill away from earning her first double-double of her collegiate career.
Holmes and Friedel each notched seven kills in the win while Rossman dished out 17 assists. Baer and Sweeny paced the Tomcat defense with 25 and 21 digs, respectively.
The Tomcats will be back in action Thursday, Oct. 1 when they host the Grove City Wolverines in PAC action. The match is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start.
