CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky. – The Thiel Tomcats suffered a 60-12 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) loss on the road Saturday to the 15
th-ranked Thomas More Saints.
Ryan Radke (Lancaster, N.Y./Lancaster Central) figured in on both of Thiel's touchdowns in the second half. Late in the third quarter, the Tomcats drove 76 yards in eight plays and scored their first touchdown on a 25-yard pass from Radke to
Alex Horvatits (Lancaster, N.Y./Saint Mary's ).
Radke also scored on a three-yard touchdown run early in the fourth quarter, capping off an eight-play drive that covered 45 yards. Radke completed four passes on the drive, including a 19-yarder to
Keyonia Dennis (Middle River, Md./Parkville).
Radke completed 16 passes on the day for 165 yards. He was also Thiel's leading rusher with 58 yards on 13 totes. Horvatits led the Tomcats with five receptions for 82 yards.
Linebackers
Jake Elk (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin) and
Doak Walker Jr. (Canton, Ohio/Canton McKinley) led the Thiel on defense with seven tackles apiece.
Tyron Bynum (McKeesport, Pa./McKeesport) also recorded six tackles, two of which were for a loss of yards.
Thomas More quarterback Jensen Gebhardt completed 18 passes Saturday for 320 yards. He threw four touchdown passes. C.J. Tarrant led the Saints on the ground with 115 yards on 12 carries. Goose Gohorn caught 10 passes for 216 yards and two touchdowns.
Tre Tunstill led the Saints on defense with 10 tackles.
The Tomcats (1-2, 0-1 PAC) will host the Case Western Reserve Spartans Saturday. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. at Alumni Stadium.
