NEWARK, N.J. – The fourth-seeded Thiel College men's volleyball team suffered a three set (17-25, 21-25, 13-25) defeat to the one-seed and host Rutgers-Newark Scarlet Raiders in the 2015 Continental Volleyball Conference (CVC) Championships Friday night.
Michael Whitelock (Pittsburgh, Pa./Schenley) was named to the All-Tournament team after collecting team-high nine kills on 17 attacks. He also added a block assists.
Also for Thiel,
John Turner (Cambridge Springs, Pa./Cambridge Springs) had eight kills and seven digs while
Zach Rombach (Severn, Md./Archbishop Spalding) and
Charlie Tindall (Tarentum, Pa./Deer Lakes) each dished out a total of 21 assists.
Colin Vitale (Pittsburgh, Pa./Montour) had six digs.
Nick Kuti had 12 kills for the Scarlet Raiders.
The Tomcats finish the 2015 season 11-14 and 4-8 within the CVC.
