NEWARK, N.J. – The Thiel College men's volleyball team fell to Rutgers-Newark Scarlet Raiders 3-0 (18-25, 22-25, 12-25) in a Continental Volleyball Conference (CVC) match Saturday afternoon.
John Turner (Cambridge Springs, Pa./Cambridge Springs) paced the Tomcat attack with nine kills. Turner also had six digs and three block assists.
Michael Whitelock (Pittsburgh, Pa./Schenley) had six kills and four block assists.
Regan Hess (Burlington, Wis./Wetosha Central) and
Dylan Lasher (Ford City, Pa./Elderton) each had five kills and a block assist.
Also for Thiel,
Colin Vitale (Pittsburgh, Pa./Montour) had a game-high nine digs.
Zach Rombach (Severn, Md./Archbishop Spalding) and
Charlie Tindall (Tarentum, Pa./Deer Lakes) each had 14 and 13 assists respectively.
Cody Chidsey had 11 kills for Rutgers-Newark.
The Tomcats (11-12, 4-7 CVC) wrap up their regular season Saturday, April 4 at 2 p.m. against Stevenson University.
