Box Score GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thomas More Saints outlasted the Thiel Tomcats in a Presidents' Athletic Conference contest Saturday at Beeghly Gymnasium, 78-73.
In a game that went back-and-forth throughout, Thomas More held a 36-34 lead at the half and outscored Thiel in the second half 42-39.
Nate McGovney led the Saints with 22 points, 12 of which came from beyond the three-point line. Jalen Clark and Drew Mumford also added 18 and 13 points for the Saints, respectively.
Eric Mallinger (Pittsburgh, Pa./Taylor Allderdice) notched a double-double for the Tomcats with 17 points and 12 rebounds. Three other Tomcats also scored in double figures, including: Tyreik Burton (Lewes, Del./Cape Henlopen) (16), Josh Johnson (Monroeville, Pa./Imani Christian Academy) (11) and Luke Kochka (Monroeville, Pa. /Gateway) (10).
The Tomcats (11-10, 7-5 PAC) will return to action Wednesday, Feb. 11 when they host the Waynesburg Yellow Jackets. Tipoff is slated for 7:30 p.m.
