GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College men's basketball team was defeated Wednesday 64-58 by the Waynesburg Yellow Jackets.
The Tomcats trailed by 19 points at the half (38-19) and battled all the way back to get within three points with less than a minute to play, but the Yellow Jackets were able to hold on for the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) victory down the stretch.
Luke Kochka (Monroeville, Pa. /Gateway) led the Tomcats with 14 points while
Josh Johnson (Monroeville, Pa./Imani Christian Academy) scored 12 points.
Eric Mallinger (Pittsburgh, Pa./Taylor Allderdice) led the Tomcats with seven rebounds.
Jacob Fleegle scored a game-high 15 points for the Yellow Jackets while Jason Propst netted 11 points.
The Tomcats (11-11, 7-6 PAC) will return to action Saturday when they travel to New Wilmington, Pa. to take on the Westminster Titans in a PAC contest. Tipoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
