EDINBORO, Pa. – The Thiel College men's basketball team suffered a 78-72 loss to Division II Edinboro Fighting Scots Wednesday night.
Senior forward
Luke Kochka (Monroeville, Pa. /Gateway) recorded 26 points for the Tomcats, setting a new career-high. Kochka shot 10-of-22 from the field, including knocking six shots from behind the three-point line. Kochka also grabbed eight rebounds in the loss.
Senior guard
Khari Bess (Waldorf, Md./Maurice J. McDonough) scored 13 points and dished out four assists. Sophomore guard
Mert Ozkaynak (Izmir, Turkey/T.C. Williams) scored nine points off the bench while junior forward
Josh Lumbus (Cleveland, Ohio/John Hay) also pulled down eight rebounds for the Tomcats.
Henri Wade-Chapman and Jaymon Mason both paced the Scots offense with 24 and 22 points respectively.
The Tomcats will resume conference play on Saturday, January 2 at 3 p.m. when they host the Thomas More Saints at Beeghly Gymnasium.
