GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College women's basketball team opened the 2015-16 season Monday night with an 85-57 non-conference loss to the Oberlin Yeowomen at Beeghly Gymnasium.
 
Taylor Duchon (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin) paced the Tomcats with 13 points and seven rebounds. Duchon made 5-of-12 shots from the floor and was a perfect 2-for-2 from the charity line. Erin DiFalco (Murrysville, Pa./Franklin Regional) and Jess Vormelker (Orwell, Ohio/Grand Valley) also chipped in with nine points apiece while Hannah Stoneman (Sugarcreek, Ohio/Hiland) scored seven points and corralled six rebounds.
 
Lindsey Bernhardt scored a game-high 26 points for Oberlin while Alexandra Stipano scored 16 points. Forward Olivia Canning tallied a game-best 10 rebounds.
 
The Tomcats will travel Wednesday to face the Hiram Terriers at 6 p.m.
