GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College women's volleyball team fell in three sets (25-19, 25-21, 25-18) to the Waynesburg Yellow Jackets in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) contest Saturday morning.
Hannah Budzowski (New Castle, Pa./Shenango),
Danielle Gomula (Northfield, Ohio/Trinity),
Bailey Holmes (Roaming Shores, Ohio/Grand Valley) and
Ashley Baer (Cambridge Springs, Pa./Cambridge Springs) were honored before the game for Senior Day.
Budzowski led the Tomcats with a team-high eight kills while Gomula and Holmes chipped in with six and five kills respectively.
Shelby Friedel (Columbia Station, Ohio/Columbia) had six total blocks and Holmes added four blocks in the loss.
Jenny Shelley (Port Allegany, Pa./Port Allegany) picked up her ninth double-double of the season, dishing out 18 assists and digging out 11 Yellow Jacket attacks.
Baer and
Peyton Allen (Mineral Ridge, Ohio/Mineral Ridge) led the Tomcats on defense with 18 digs apiece.
Megan Sweeny (Freeport, Pa./Freeport Area) dug out 16 Yellow Jacket attacks.
The Tomcats finish the regular season 3-27 and 3-15 in conference play.
