GREENVILLE, Pa. –
Josh Johnson (Monroeville, Pa./Imani Christian Academy),
Khari Bess (Waldorf, Md./Maurice J. McDonough) and
Luke Kochka (Monroeville, Pa. /Gateway) each scored more than 10 points Wednesday, leading the Thiel men's basketball team to a 71-59 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) victory over the Washington & Jefferson Presidents at Beeghly Gymnasium.
The Tomcats never trailed in the conference contest. Thiel edged W&J in points scored in the paint (30-12), bench points (21-3), rebounds (46-36) and fast break points (10-2).
Johnson led the Tomcats with 15 points. Bess scored 14 points while adding four assists and three steals. Kochka scored 12 points while freshman forward
Clandell Cetoute (Wellington, Fla./Wellington) scored eight points and swatted six W&J shots.
Mike Resnik scored a game-high 21 points for the Presidents. Brian Lindquist and Doug Johnson added 13 and 11 points, respectively.
Thiel improved to 11-8 overall and 7-3 in the PAC with Wednesday's win. The Tomcats will head to Bethany, W.Va. Saturday to take on the Bison at 3:30 p.m.
