WAYNESBURG, Pa. – The Thiel College women's basketball team was defeated by the Waynesburg Yellow Jackets 77-47 Wednesday in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) matchup.
 
Hannah Stoneman (Sugarcreek, Ohio/Hiland) led the Tomcats with 12 points, including a perfect 6-for-6 effort from the charity stripe. Stoneman also pulled down six rebounds. Brijae Journee (Cleveland, Ohio/Villa-Angela St. Joseph) scored nine points off the bench while Kayla Welty (Portville, N.Y./Portville ) scored six points. Welty also grabbed five rebounds and stole the ball twice.
 
Rebecca Kerr, Hayden Giuliani and Katie Gehlmann each scored 10 points for the Yellow Jackets.
 
The Tomcats will be back in action Saturday when they travel to Grove City to take on the Wolverines in PAC play at 1 p.m.
