Box Score GREENVILLE, Pa. - The Thiel College women's volleyball team fell to the Bethany College Bison in three close sets (25-23, 25-23, 25-16) Wednesday in the 2014 home opener at Beeghly Gymnasium.
 
Senior outside hitter Alex Hall (Norwin, Pa./Norwin) led the Tomcats with 12 kills and three service aces while fellow senior Lauren Downs (Mentor, OH/Mentor) secured 14 digs. Sophomore Jenny Shelley (Port Allegany, Pa./Port Allegany) also dished out 21 assists in the loss.  
 
For the Bison, the McKenzie sisters, Dylana and Dakota had 11 and 10 kills, respectively. Mackenzie Lauber had 32 assists.
 
The Tomcats (3-4, 2-1 PAC) will travel this weekend to Meadville, Pa. to take part in the 2014 Allegheny Tournament. The Tomcats will take on the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg in their opening match of the tournament, which is scheduled for 3 p.m. on Friday.
