GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Bethany Bison women's basketball team overcame a 3-point halftime deficit Saturday to earn a 70-65 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) victory over the Thiel Tomcats at Beeghly Gymnasium.
Lauren Simpson hit a three-pointer 3:33 into the second half, which put the Bison up by a point. Bethany never gave up the lead the rest of the way and led by as many as seven points in the second half.
Jaclyn Watkins (Aliquippa, Pa./Aliquippa) led the Tomcats with 19 points while also pulling down eight rebounds.
Hannah Stoneman (Sugarcreek, Ohio/Hiland) scored 13 points while
Taylor Ketler (Dalton, Ohio/Dalton) led the Tomcats with 10 rebounds.
Bethany's Kelsea Daugherty scored a game-high 22 points and added 12 rebounds to finish with a double-double. Gabrielle Naples also scored 11 points for the Bison.
The Tomcats will return to action Tuesday when they host the Hiram Terriers at 7 p.m.
