GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College women's basketball team suffered a 97-68 defeat at the hands of the Penn State Beaver Lions in a non-conference matchup Thursday night.
 
Junior forward Jaclyn Watkins (Aliquippa, Pa./Aliquippa) scored 23 points for the Tomcats on 10-of-13 shooting from the field and making three of her four free throws. Watkins also corralled nine rebounds and blocked three shots. Kayla Welty (Portville, N.Y./Portville ) scored eleven points while Cimone Reid (Toledo, Ohio/Ottawa Hills) chipped in eight off the bench.
 
Morgan Kurtz scored 23 points while Cassandra Flowers added 19 points and 17 rebounds.
 
The Tomcats (1-3) will be back in action Monday, Nov. 24 at 7 p.m. when they take on the Oberlin College Yeowomen.
