Box Score 2 GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College women's volleyball team split a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) tri-match Saturday. Thiel defeated the Westminster Titans 3-1 (19-25, 29-27, 25-20, 29-27) but fell to the Grove City Wolverines 3-0 (25-27, 15-25, 24-26).
The Tomcats dropped the first set to the Titans but rallied to win three sets in a row to seal the victory. Sophomore Jenny Shelley (Port Allegany, Pa./Port Allegany) recorded 40 assists along with 16 digs to tally a double-double. Senior Alex Hall (Norwin, Pa./Norwin) also notched a double-double with 20 digs and a game-high 16 kills to go along with five service aces. Kristen Gaut also had double-digit kills (10) while Lauren Downs (Mentor, OH/Mentor) racked up 25 digs.
Lexie Yoho had a team-high 10 kills while Erin Kennedy dug out 22 attempts for the Titans.
In Thiel's final match of the day, Hall once again recorded double-digit kills in the contest, putting down 13 attempts against the Wolverines. Hannah Budzowski (New Castle, Pa./Shenango) and Veronica Brueggman (South Park, Pa./South Park) had 7 and 6 kills, respectively, while Shelley dished out 28 assists.
Jamie Robatisin had a double-double for the Wolverines with 17 digs and 10 kills.
The Tomcats (7-13, 4-5 PAC) will return to action Wednesday when they take on the Saint Vincent Bearcats in a PAC matchup. The action is set to begin at 7 p.m.
